Registration

How do I register for an account?

You’ll be prompted to register on our website. You can use your social network credentials or your email address and elected password to register for an account and manage your email preferences, personal details plus manage your newspaper packs and active subscriptions.

I can’t sign up for an account

We use single sign on (SSO) technology across the DC Thomson Group which allows you to sign in once and across all of our sites that are enabled with SSO.

If this is the first time you’re registering, please ensure that you are using your correct username and password when registering socially or entering your email address correctly.

We will show an error message if we have already registered an account with an email address supplied so if you’re still having difficulty, perhaps try a password reset.

Buying a subscription

How can I pay for my subscription?

We accept all major credit and debit cards.

Can I subscribe for specific days e.g. can I read it every Thursday for a month?

We offer daily access to our ePaper but all other subscriptions start at 4 weekly recurring access, please see our Subscribe page for more information.

Can I just subscribe to the website?

Yes, we offer a full range of subscription packages to meet our reader’s needs. We offer unlimited website access from 4 weeks onwards as part of our Web Pack. See our Subscribe page for more information.

How can I view all subscription packs?

We offer a range of subscription packages that can be viewed by accessing the Subscribe page and then “All Subscription Packs”.

Accessing content

I keep reaching the article limit and see the subscribe message

You can view a limited number of free articles each month. To view more local stories and receive unlimited access you’ll need an active subscription*, view our subscription packs for more information.

If you have already registered or have an active subscription to a pack then ensure you have logged in to your account. When you look at the top of the page, if you’re logged in then your personal welcome will be visible. If you’re not signed in then you will see a prompt to login/register.

*ePaper only packs do not offer web access.

I already have a subscription, do I need to pay again to access stories?

Your existing subscription access will not be interrupted so you can continue to log in and access your stories.

I don’t want to subscribe, can I still read stories on this website?

Once you have registered, you can enjoy limited number of FREE stories a month on our website. Once you have read a story, you can view the content again without it counting towards your total.

If you would like to take advantage of a round-up of news in your inbox then register and sign up to our newsletter today.

If I read an article again, will it still be free?

Yes, if you have read an article and choose to read it again in the same month, this will not count towards your limit.

Yes, we want you to access your news and stories in the way you want.

How often are stories updated?

We work hard to bring you the most up to date local stories throughout the day. Our ePaper editions are published Monday to Saturday.

Account and subscription management

How do I manage my account?

The Preference Centre is your hub for managing your email preferences, personal and payment details as well as your active and recent subscription purchases.

I can’t remember my account password

Click login/register on the blue login bar and then click forgotten password on the next screen. We will send you an email with a temporary password to get you going again.

Can I cancel my subscription?

If you have an active subscription with a recurring payment then you can stop the payment from renewing by informing the subscription team immediately. Your unlimited access will end at the end of your current subscription term.

How do I change my personal or payment details?

When you are logged in to your account, you can view and update your personal details and also manage your payment details.

Ultimate Pack and newspapers

How does it work?

When you subscribe to our Ultimate Pack you will receive unlimited access to website content, access to an ePaper edition and receive vouchers to redeem at your local newsagent – valid Monday to Saturday.

We will send you vouchers to redeem against a copy of the newspaper, covering Monday to Saturday editions. These vouchers carry the full value of the daily edition newspaper and your Newsagent takes care of the rest.

How do I receive my newspaper?

We will send you vouchers within 10 working days of payment to cover the full newspaper cover price. These can be redeemed at your local newsagent.

My newspaper vouchers haven’t arrived

Our Circulation Team will send vouchers to the address provided at point of purchase within 10 working days of payment.

ePaper

How do I access my ePaper?

When you have an active subscription to an ePaper packyou can click on ePaper to login and access your Edition. Once you have logged in, click Read against your Edition.

I purchased my ePaper subscription through the app / PageSuite, how do I access it?

You can log in to the desktop PageSuite edition here or via the app instance when you purchased your Edition through the App Store.

I’ve downloaded the app but I cannot see any content

Please use the Contact Us section within the app to contact our Customer Support team who can assist you further.

My device has updated and the app content is blank, can I get my ePaper back?

Sometimes the ePaper app or your mobile device needs an update. Simply use your email address and password to log in the app or online and your ePaper can be viewed once again.
